"Joy comes to us in ordinary moments ....

.......... We risk missing out when we get too busy chasing down the extraordinary" - Brene Brown

Have you ever come across that one person who just doesn't know how to sit still? They are constantly running from one event to the next. From one social affair to another. Travelling around the world and have wardrobes that are popping at the seams as they try to keep up with the Jones's. These are people who are trying to be uber-productive and feel the need to maximize every opportunity. These are people who also suffer from the very well known acronym FOMO, fear of missing out. Do you think the pandemic with all it's lock downs, was a sense of relief for them? If there is no where to go or no one to show their latest wear to, would they feel less stressed and frazzled?

Today I slept in, took time off. I felt chilled and less frantic. Today there was no adventure. It was just an ordinary day. An ordinary day with health and a quiet mind. What a perfect day. I've realized that JOMO, the joy of missing out, seems so much more appealing. Who needs to be everywhere and doing everything. It's ok to say no to events and opportunities. Stop trying to chase down the extraordinary. Just find joy in the ordinary. Perhaps you too will have the perfect day as I did.
